The Tapestry

The Tapestry is that intersection in lives where chance brings together two people, with an impact so great, that it changes one or both, not outwardly, but to their core, who they are to become. Often these moments evolve into something romantic, and it’s a truism of the human condition that romantic relationships are often the largest catalyst for personal growth and self-awareness. But the tapestry can be a mentor, a friendship, a kindness or a sacrifice of a stranger, as the gift can be found in a moment as well as one that blossoms within a longer duration-but it always starts with the moment.

This is not destiny in my eyes. For me, the tapestry is without conscious design. Yet it does not have to be fated to be beautiful, to be profound, to hold a sense of magic, of the sublime. It is one of those gifts that life every so often gives to the blessed and to those open to growth . 
To create this painting I used photos of people spanning varied eras of modern history, and blended them into a cohesive story.
