Girl With Guitar

I was at the bar waiting to meet a friend. She sat in the light, guitar case at her feet. It was clear, she too was waiting, serene and solitary, with a touch of quiet introspection quietly shining across the contours of her face. The scene was moody, evocative,- rustic exposed brick walls, vintage wooden chairs, glowing hanging bulbs, soft muted tones of browns, greys and amber. One couldn't help but wonder who this young guitar player was, how long she would wait, and for whom. But for me at least, she was the essence of tranquility, and that was enough. My friend arrived and we left, but right before, I took a photo, and decades later, created this painting. I hope it evokes some of the mystery and charm of that soft afternoon with the girl and her guitar.
